Contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative: "Capacity Building Workshop for African CDC" successfully concluded

On October 23, the "Capacity Building Workshop for African CDC" hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and hosted by Jiangsu Institute for Schistosomiasis Control and Prevention successfully concluded.The workshop had 16 participants, including 10 from African CDC and 6 from Tunisia. Director Cao Jun delivered a speech, sincerely thanking each participant for their support and cooperation during the workshop, and hoping that the participants could bring the experience and technology they learned back to their own countries. He believed that with everyone's efforts, African Center for Disease Control and Prevention will continue to strengthen the public health prevention and control system and capacity building, and make contributions to the prevention and control of infectious diseases in Africa and the well-being of the people.



Dr. Mayarieve Tates Tora, chief health economist of African Center for Disease Control and Prevention, delivered a speech as a participant. On behalf of African Center for Disease Control and Prevention, she thanked the teachers for their selfless sharing and the staff of Jiangsu Institute for Schistosomiasis Control and Prevention for their hospitality, and thanked the Chinese government for the invitation, which they treasured this rare opportunity.At the same time, she said that through the study and exchange of this workshop, it provides ideas for African countries to develop more effective prevention strategies, promotes continuous innovation in scientific research, and further promotes the healthy development of globalization.


This seminar lasted 7 days,invited many experts from Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Jiangsu Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and Jiangsu Institute for Schistosomiasis Control to give lectures.The main contents of the course include the prevention and control technology and experience of infectious diseases such as AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, schistosomiasis and monkeypox virus.In addition, this workshop adopted the method of combining theory with practice, arranged a wealth of field trips, visited the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Zhongtu Group, Taizhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Shuoshi Biotechnology Company, so that the participants could step into the front line of biomedical product research and development and production, feel the pulse of enterprise innovation and the atmosphere of the booming industry; go deep into the grassroots, exchange prevention and control experience, understand the organizational structure of China's disease prevention and control, and more intuitively understand the history and effectiveness of China's disease prevention and control. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, this project aims to share China's experience in infectious disease prevention and control strategies and comprehensive management, and provide an exchange platform for international cooperation, promote the development of global health, and help build the Belt and Road Initiative and the human health community.
