Training Course on Prevention and Control of New and Recurrent Infectious Diseases successfully concluded

On the afternoon of September 7, the "Training Course on Prevention and Control of New and Recurrent Infectious Diseases" hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the Provincial Institute of Hematology and Epidemiology was successfully concluded. 39 students from Egypt, Kenya, Sierra Leone and the Bahamas attended the closing ceremony online.The closing ceremony was presided over by Wang Qi, chief of the Science and Technology Department.Director Cao Jun delivered a speech, sincerely thanking each student for their support and cooperation during the training course, and hoping that the students can apply the knowledge and technology learned in the prevention and control of infectious diseases to promote the control process of infectious diseases in their own country.Shamsa Samir Abdallah from Kenya thanked all the students on behalf of the staff of the Provincial Institute of Hematology and Epidemiology for their hospitality.Through this training, they realized the important responsibility of applying infectious disease prevention and control technology to prevent diseases and save lives, and said they would put the knowledge learned into practice and pass it on to their juniors and colleagues. This training course invited Dr. Leonard Ortega, Director of the Department of High Disease Burden of the Global Malaria Program of the World Health Organization, as well as many experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Jiangsu Center for Disease Control and Prevention, School of Public Health of Fudan University and our institute to give lectures. Centering on the themes of the construction of China's public health system, the introduction of China's experience in COVID-19 prevention and control, the prevention and control policies and measures of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, schistosomiasis, malaria and monkeypox, the successful experience of China in infectious disease prevention and control, the construction of public health system and international cooperation in diseases was shared with the participants from other countries through thematic seminars. This not only strengthened the exchanges and cooperation between countries in related fields, but also made due contributions to the development and construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative.
