The "Belt and Road" Training Course for National Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Officials was successfully concluded

On the afternoon of April 26, 2023,the "Belt and Road" National Infectious Disease Prevention andControl Officials Seminar sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China andhosted by the Provincial Institute of Blood Prevention and Control wassuccessfully concluded. 14 officials from Kenya and Sierra Leone attended theclosing ceremony. The closing ceremony was presided over by the Deputy SectionChief of the Science and Education Section Ke Xuedan.

Director Cao Jun delivered aspeech, and sincerely thanked every student for their support and cooperationduring the training course, hoping that the students can apply the knowledgeand technology learned in the prevention and control of infectious diseases, soas to promote the process of infectious disease control in their own countries.

Hassan Kamara from Sierra Leone, onbehalf of all the students, thanked the teachers for their selfless sharing andthe staff of the provincial Institute of Blood Prevention, and thanked theChinese government for its support and concern for African countries in thefield of health. As a participant in the China-Zanzibar cooperation project,the introduction of malaria, schistosomiasis, tuberculosis and the sharing ofprevention and control strategies are very important to the provincialInstitute of Blood Control. This training has opened up a new way to preventand control infectious diseases in African countries, so as to effectivelycontrol the incidence and prevalence of these diseases. They are more aware ofthe important responsibility of applying infectious disease prevention andcontrol technology to prevent diseases and save lives, and they are committedto putting the knowledge learned into practice and passing it on to futuregenerations and colleagues.

The training course invited expertsfrom Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Jiangsu ProvincialCenter for Disease Control and Prevention, Fudan University and ProvincialInstitute of Blood Control to teach the prevention and control strategy,experience and diagnosis and treatment of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria,schistosomiasis, monkeypox and other infectious diseases. The provincialInstitute of Blood Prevention will promote the development of global healththrough foreign aid training projects, and help the "Belt and Road"initiative and the construction of human health community.
