The workshop on building African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and on Public Health Management began smoothly

On October 20, the international training program "African National CDC Construction and Public Health Management Training Class" organized by the Provincial Institute of Blood Prevention and Control officially opened the class. Wang Jie, Chief of the Science and Education Section, presided over the opening ceremony, and Director Cao Jun delivered a speech. Zhao Yuhong, Director of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Department of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, attended the opening ceremony.

This class is the third online international training course organized by the Provincial Institute of Blood Prevention this year, with a total of 58 students from Egypt, Kenya, Sierra Leone and Zambia participating in the training, which is the largest number of participants this year. The participants, mostly from the ministries of Health of their respective countries, are engaged in infectious disease prevention and management, and they will study and exchange online for 21 days.

Dr. Hassan Kamara, Public Health Officer, Ministry of Health, Sierra Leone, and Mr. Ghelal Rimi, Assistant Minister, Ministry of Health and Population, Egypt, spoke as representatives of the participants. In their speeches, they all expressed the hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between countries in the field of infectious diseases and deepen the friendship between Chinese and African countries.

The training course invited a number of experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Fudan University and Provincial Institute of Hematology to give lectures. They have profound theoretical knowledge and rich practical experience. To teach students the diagnosis, treatment, vector control strategies and methods of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, schistosomiasis and other infectious diseases, as well as the prevention and control experience of novel coronavirus, monkeypox and other emerging infectious diseases. At the same time, the training course also arranged a cloud tour, so that the participants more intuitive understanding of China's technical experience in the prevention and control of infectious diseases and research.
