Ladies and Gentlemen
It
is with much pleasure and gladness but mixed with departing fears and
tears that i stand before you this morning on behalf of the participants
of the Third International
Training Course on Tropical disease Control with our opened heart of appreciation
thanking you for the transfer of knowledge to us with reference to the
control of tropical diseases especially those of parasitic origin.
For
the period we have been here we have not learnt what we came for only,
but we have also learnt how to be humble, dedicated and how to love and
care.
The Director of this Institution has taught us about exemplary leadership
by exhibiting all the qualities mentioned above. Our observation is that
all his subordinates are also of the same quality. This outstanding attitude
is worth writing home about.
We
were adequately and comfortably accommodated and most of the time we were
over pampered and over fed. Do not be surprise if you see some of us here
again. We salute you for your kindness and extreme love.
Whatever has a beginning must have an end. To day the closing ceremony
for the Third International Training Course is being held. This is a clear
indication that the course has come to an end and as such the participants
have to return home.
Though
we are departing from your love and tender care, the memory of this training
course and all that surrounds it will remain long in our mind even for
life.
Parting from good friends made in a short time can be heart breaking.
Atanyrate, we have to part and be consoled by the fact that this parting
is not by death. We will continue to communicate no matter how long the
distance is because Internet has shortened communication gap for us.
The
participants are grateful to the Prime Minister and Government of the
Peoples Republic of China for their magnanimity and benevolence. The Government
of China has spent a lot of money in training and caring for us. You can
be rest assured that the money spent on us will not be in vain. The knowledge
we have gained will not die with us. It will be properly utilized in our
different countries for the benefit of our people and will also be transferred
to others for posterity sake.
Before I end, it is my prayer that it shall be well with every member
of staff of this Institution, and also that this Institution should be
seen on the world map of excellence very soon.
